Short answer
Recycling fees are small at micro volumes. The per-country fixed costs are what hurt.
The variable part
- Eco-contribution based on weight and material.
- Often tens of euros a year if you send a few hundred small parcels.
- Packaging that is harder to recycle costs more.
The fixed part
- Registration paperwork, minimum yearly charges, and the fee for a representative.
- Barely changes with how much you sell, and you pay it in every country.
How to decide
- Work it out per country against your actual sales.
- Get written quotes rather than working from published ranges.
- This site does not calculate a figure. Fees change annually and a wrong number is worse than none.
