Ecoembes charges a per-material Green Dot tariff. At micro volumes the tariff itself is small; the practical cost is dominated by the authorised representative fee.

Things to watch out for

  • Spanish law requires sellers based outside Spain to appoint a representative there.
  • You have to register with the government register as well as joining a scheme.
  • Spain also charges a plastic packaging tax, separate from EPR, which applies to some importers. Check whether it applies to you.
